There will be no school on Thursday, November 9th (Teacher Work Day) and Friday, November 10th (Veterans' Day).

Thank you to all the families that donated to this year's Donation Drive. We were able to meet our goal, raising over $31,000!! If you submitted a company match donation, please follow-up to ensure delivery. If you paid online and still need to turn in a check, please do so as soon as possible. Your donations support classroom supplies, PE equipment, library, staff, dances, school events, and school programs that make MMS the wonderful school that it is!

Halloween is Tuesday, October 31st. Students and staff members are welcome to dress in costumes on this day! Costumes must follow the rules for our school dress code. Students may not wear masks or have fake weapons. Costumes that depict violence or gore are not allowed.

Our first dance of the year will be held on Friday, October 27th from 5-7 PM in the Community Center Gym. Admission is $5.00, and student body cards must be presented at time of purchase. Tickets will be sold at lunch and after school on Wednesday (10/25) and Thursday (10/26). Tickets will also be sold at lunch only on Friday (10/27). Tickets will not be sold at the door. Parents must enter the dance in order to pick up their child at the end of the dance.

Students are allowed to wear costumes, but may not wear masks, bring weapons, or wear costumes that depict violence or gore.

We are proud to announce that MMS teacher Shanna Urbancic has been selected as one of three teachers to represent Santa Clara County at the California State Teacher of the Year competition. Shanna was recognized at the 48th Annual Teacher Recognition Celebration in September. Congratulations Shanna!

We are taking orders for MMS Spirit Wear! The order form is available under the Welcome to MMS tab. Orders must be received by Friday, October 20th. Cash or checks accepted (payable to Moreland Middle School). Order forms and cash/check must be turned into Mrs. Bush in the main office.

Make-up Picture Day will be held on Tuesday, October 10th in our cafeteria. If you ordered pictures and are planning to retake your picture, you must bring your picture packet to the photographer in order to have retakes.

There is no school this Friday, October 6th. Teachers will be participating in Professional Development Activities.

The MMS Book Fair Online Shopping is available September 17th to October 3rd. Simply go to "Library" under the "Students" tab. This is a great opportunity to buy books as gifts and support the MMS library! 55% of all sales will benefit the school.
