Show your school spirit during the week of October 22nd! Monday is Denim Day, Tuesday is Lazy/Comfy Day, Wednesday is Silly Sock Day, Thursday is Sports Day and Friday is Formal Day.

Our first dance of the year is scheduled for Friday, October 26th in the Community Center Gym from 5-7pm. Students are encouraged to dress up in costumes (school dress code rules still apply) and there will be a costume contest during the dance. Tickets are on sale for $5 during the week of the dance (students must have their ID card). Tickets are sold during lunch Wed., Thurs and Fri and after school on Wed and Thurs). Students can be dropped off at 4:45pm at the CC Gym. In order to pick up your child, you must enter the gym. We are looking for parents to chaperone the dance and to provide snacks for the students to enjoy during the dance. Click on the headline above to learn how to sign up to help.

The DELAC (District English Learner Advisory Committee) will be held on Thursday, October 25th from 9:00-10:30am at Anderson Elementary School (Room P-2). Anderson Elementary is located at 4000 Rhoda Drive in San Jose. Free babysitting is provided.

MMS students from the Theatre Club invite you to the "Superhero Issues" Comedy Play about the challenging lives of those graced with super powers. It takes place Friday, October 19th @ 5:30pm in the M/U Room (cafeteria). A donation of $5.00 is suggested. The show will last about 35 minutes. We hope to see you there!

Tryouts for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Girls' Basketball Team begin today!! 8th grade tryouts are from 3:30-4:30 in the cafeteria. 7th grade tryouts are from 2:30-4:00 in the gym. 6th grade tryouts are from 3:15-4:45 in the gym.

Did you know that we have a mentoring program here at MMS called Academic Empowerment where parents become mentors to students in need? The time requirement is minimal at just 45 minutes, one day a week. Mentors help students in a variety of ways such as with organization, time management, weekly planning, as well as homework. A student can be matched to your skill set and to your availability.
