Our Fall Sports Banquet will be held on Thursday, December 20th from 5:30-7:00pm in the Community Center gym at MMS. We will be honoring the athletes from girls' basketball, cross country, girls' soccer, and boys' volleyball. A light dinner will be served from 5:30-6:00pm. Awards to follow at 6:00pm. Parents and siblings are welcome. No RSVP is needed! For questions or to volunteer, please email Sara at [email protected].

Students will be dismissed at noon on Friday, December 21st.

Before the winter break, be sure to check our Lost & Found (right outside of the office). Unclaimed items will be donated to a charity on Friday, December 21st.

Yearbooks are on sale now! Reserve your copy of the 2018-2019 yearbook today before prices go up! Cost is only $35.00 (cash or check). Please make your check payable to Moreland Middle School. Turn in your money and order form to Mrs. Bush in the front office no later than Wednesday, December 19th. Yearbooks will be distributed in June.

Boy's basketball tryouts begin in the gym after school Monday, December 17th. Tryout start times are as follows: 6th grade at 3:00, 7th grade at 3:15 and 8th grade at 3:30. Tryouts will be approximately 90 minutes in length, but may vary slightly.
No experience is needed. Please come prepared to practice in shorts, t-shirt, and athletic shoes.

Our next Home & School Club meeting will be held in the Library on Tuesday, December 11th from 8:30-9:30. Come join us and hear about all the great things happening at MMS. Do you have any questions about Aeries? Tanya De La Cruz will be joining our meeting to talk about Aeries and answer any questions.

MMS has offers a variety of lunch clubs for our students! Lunch clubs are posted outside the office window, are announced each morning, and are also posted on our webpage (under the Students tab). We offer many lunch clubs including Speech & Debate Club, Math Club, Pokemon Club, Greenkeepers Club, and much more!

Do you have an 8th grade student? We need your help! We are looking for a parent or group of parents to organize the 8th Grade Promotion Dance. If you're interested or have any questions, please contact Ann Doumanian at [email protected]. The dance is scheduled for May 31st from 6:30-9:00pm.

All students were invited to participate in the round 1 (written competition) on 11/29, and finalists have been notitified. The final oral spelling bee will be held on Thursday, January 10th from 6-8pm. 6th grade will be in room 103, 7th grade in room 102, and 8th grade in the library. Study words are available in the office.
